we are a school in which women research in a nurturing but tough surroundings and expand both as people and as participants of a community. our success may be traced at once to the summer of 1962, whilst Purnell's founding head, lytt Gould, and his spouse, sis, had a conversation with friends approximately the want for "a school which places the female first, a school which values each person." the Goulds and their fellow founders created Purnell to be that school. they took the satisfactory of what was acknowledged about studying and education for adolescent ladies who would not locate fulfillment at greater traditional faculties, and that they created an educational program, installed traditions, and grew a community in which those ladies could thrive.
